Breathe!

BREATHE!

Whatever it is, breathe!

'Won't Die One' is one commonly heard phrase you would hear from me. It is precisely the fact that our lives are firmly held in His hands that we 'won't die', unless He says so. So how? Give your best and keep running despite having the seemingly neverending and winding journey staring right at your face.
Bottom line: If you feel like *blah*, then ask why are you still doing what you're doing. Simply because if you remember the reason why you began what you're doing, then you either stick to it (and not complaint, i.e. shut up) or you move on, for the fact that what you're doing no longer fulfills your original vision.

Disclaimer: original vision. That leaves you with no space to state that your vision has changed. It shouldn't, abruptly.

There is a need for clarity. Otherwise, the journey ahead will never make sense to you. Perhaps, you might even give up that journey :)

keep_running. keep_cycling. keep_growing.

It does not matter if you're a tall or short tree. What matters most is that you keep growing.

Impact

Well, this picture particularly inspired me that every word said and actions rendered can make or break a person. Our words carry power.
I still recall vividly how I watched a man standing at the pulpit spoke passionately about 'Revival'. Man, I responded. As I type these words, my mind plays the video all over again only to see that the same man, who still delivers the message, no longer live in that manner I once believed he did. My heart is broken. I am upset. But the race is not over until He says so.
Well, when I spoke about character during my trainings, I mentioned that integrity and honesty are part of the package. See, He has very interesting and unique ways of getting points across to us. I felt the conviction grip my heart so strongly there and then, I paused, and in my heart, I made a decision to do away with my student concession card when I just graduated. I realised that I could not deliver the content when I don't live it. Wow, tough huh. Yes, there is a price to pay. Until you do so, keep you mouth shut.
I stopped the usage of the very much affordable concession card and started the seemingly neverending journey of the adult version. Am I paying more? Most definitely. However, I can now deliver the content with much more conviction and peace in my heart.
For all who speak into lives of others:
Let our words impact.
Let our lives impact even more.
Let the two, tally.

Initiation

You know what they say when you enter the army and get commissioned as an Office-sir - Initiation. I got mine with a little twist of surprise but escaped the many cans of beer and humiliation by the skin of my teeth. It happens everywhere…wedding, birthday, promotion, sometimes for fun.

It's the same for riders. I still remember vividly how I fell at the junction (somewhere along Yishun Ring Road) simply because the hybrid bike was new (coupled with the fact that I was on clip-ons for the first time) and no one helped me up when I fell with my feet locked onto the peddle. THAT, was initiation for me on the new bike, now gone.

Tonight marks the memorable yet not so memorable journey towards King Albert Park with our dear Mr. Kevin Thio. Yes, every dog has its day so will every bike. It happened along Bukit Timah Road, somewhere off Namly Ave. You see, an Toyota Vios can never beat a Ferrari unless you surprise it. I mean, you get the idea. And so….Out of pure concern to check if (me) this slow rider was catching up, he turned his head to look.... BANG! It’s called the curb. The double yellow line shifted along with the narrowed road. The luxuriously well coated, splendid decorative sticker-ed, fierce looking Titanium frame took its first bite onto the tar road. The bike’s fine saved for the usual scratches and the kyo-yard-ed aero bars. (No worries Kevin, they still look good and they sure function well.) Nonetheless, it remains as a tough looking fellow proving its worth and of course, the induced commando spirit of the rider. Well, Kevin sustained minor injuries such as a tiny 50cents coin sized bruise underneath his left elbow and a nicely done up Char Siew Bao on his left knee. His arms ate some grass too. What a way to protect the bike – human body first, then bike.

That was his initiation for the brand new titanium frame. Well, at least it came. Next time when you fall, you wouldn’t feel so bad and who knows, maybe he would have mastered the art of falling without scratching the bike. J

Happy riding to all riders. Ride safe, keep your eyes in front.

Singing: "You're the Inspiration..."

Of late, I have been growing. Physically. Sideways. Roundways. I have also grown in unity of the 6 packs into 1. Not to mention a discriminating picture of me being posted elsewhere. Also, the comments that followed both in the post and the tagboard. Gosh... I almost couldn't recognise myself.

Oh, back to the topic.

I have been recently inspired by a brother of mine to really get back into shape, for both running and riding. I went for rides over the few weekends and I felt really great! Well of course, I was trailing since I, being full of ignorance, went on a ride with seasoned riders. It got my butt aching but body feeling great. So here's me sharing my inspiration with all closet readers!

Check out my buddy with his aspirations. You will see only 2 pictures. The first, which is made known to public even on facebook. The other, was never revealed. I wonder how I found it...

Here's the first:
