What people do when they reach office early

Here's what I attempted to do whilste waiting for 8:30am to crawl by. I'm early, realy early.

So I shall do up a quick fix for those hungry foodies.

Vanhouten Almond White Chocs! Not my favourite but am captured by its sweetness and fresh taste of almond.

Here's a closer look at it

Quick! Guess what's this?? Bad lunch. Nothing beats a bad lunch and a dissatisfied stomach. ROAR. No go la, I would rather go for the original Snickers Bar, peanut, anytime.

Not advicable. Please don't do this to yourself. In a moment of thirst and the lack of putting ideas through a proper thinking process, I bought Yakult. 1 tube. I finished them all within 10 minutes.

Shiok. It sure feels great to have those L. acididophilus going down your throat but you surely didn't know that it has got plenty of sugar content in it yes? Vitagen, on the fl!pside, has lesser in comparison. Of course, we all know how packaging plays a part. And yeap, I had a good time for the next few days clearing the bowels.

Stacko!

How can I miss these Shokudo pictures out?

My fav, the Grill section

MUST TRY: Fresh Prawn wrapped with Bacon (yes, pork) and grilled to perfection, slightly cooked to bring forth that juicy and tenderness of both the bacon and prawn. Oiishi!

Grill Salmon. Ganbette.

Garlic Fried Rice. The rice is fragrant yet does not overpower itself with garlic. It's just nice and I enjoyed it! See, my expression.

Hokkaido Style Curry Potato Pizza. Crispy crust with a spicy taste coming from the curry powder.

Jac's fav.

To top it off, this Orangina drink was certainly the right one to complete the meal.

Been eating much, but the exercise does not compensate! How??

Well, it's a form of release for me. Eating. ha ha HA.

Next up, Chinatown.

Zapcode!

I'm a Zapper!

Shall not explain over here. Go try it!

But here's an example! Found this on Life!

Oh yes, if you do have the time, go catch WALL.E (short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class). It's an interestingly touching animation proudly presented to you by Academy Award®-winning writer-director Andrew Stanton ("Finding Nemo") and the inventive storytellers and technical geniuses at Pixar Animation Studios ("The Incredibles," "Cars," "Ratatouille") as they transport youto a galaxy not so very far away for a new computer-animated cosmic comedy about a determined robot named WALL•E.
Big time yawn, been really tired these days. I'm suspecting a weakening of the body. For some reasons, it can't seem to endure the normal hours of trainings I'm having lately.
Still observing.
Still eating. Plenty of food pictures! Just too lazy to get it up

Habits of mind

This is written in response to utter shock, frustration and somewhat a sense of dismay. These were with the intention of simply wanting to finish up some backlogs at the neighbourhood library somewhere in the north. Gosh, the library was packed and as I’m writing this, people were walking by and engaged in their usual petty chats while time whisked away. Initially, my mind was filled with thoughts on how people can hog 1 table with a few textbooks, tissue papers and jackets spread across the length of the table, only to have just 1 soul seated there for a good 1hr without anyone being able to occupy the obviously vacant seat. As I took a short tour around the library, my vision started to rally between the adults and the students. It soon tapered to just the many students who were, just like me, seated on the floor at various corners of the library.

Well, nothing wrong with that, except when there are furniture ready for use, they really ought to get themselves postured in a manner ready to learn, absorb and commit to memory the contents they were rushing through for their preliminary examinations. Honestly, I started to feel frustrated. My thoughts ran from “WHAT?!” to “sigh…” I traced my emotions and realised that it stemmed from words that came a student I taught at the first quarter of the year. Let’s put our minds to some thinking and reasoning before coming to a conclusion which pretty often isn’t one of our own.

Is the library a conducive place of study for you? Let’s take away the word conducive. The statement might well be a positive one. Many tend to consider, or have a preconceived mindset that, this place is generally quiet and best for studying. Oh come on, is that really true for all? Certainly not, at least for someone who needs active discussions, movements or has any preferred style of learning such as the kinesthetic lot. Let’s remove the technicalities of terms and styles. Rather, the practicalities of learning. Note: I’m steering away from ‘studying’ and zooming in towards ‘learning’. There’s a vast difference between the two.

Why sit on the dusty, dirty carpeted floor when you can be well seated in a similar environment with necessary facilities to enable learning to the best ability? Who ever told you that by studying with peers who constantly engage in endless gossips and useless chats will help in understanding your academic subjects better? Does putting a textbook in front of you and listening to over-jarring music assist in your ready state of mind to learn? Certainly not. Common sense tells us that.

The worse thing a child can do is to take learning out of the equation and think it as boring and something which cannot be changed because the innate abilities say no. There are ways to do things better. You can run. However, you can choose to run in either a pair of slippers or a decent pair of cushioned shoes that can carry you further and possibly in a faster pace. I have come to realise that there are things which are worthy of ponder and if need be, produce a change in me be it in my perception or manner of working. Say a Coach tells you that you might want to consider running with a pair of shoes than just bare footed, then it only makes perfect sense for anyone to put to test and see if it really works. If it does, voila! If not, just discard it and consider addition cognitive knowledge.

Should a friend come along your path and speak truth into you, you can either respond by ‘reacting’ or simply put a thought and work out necessary changes. Of course, you can always choose to totally ignore it.

What am I driving at? Habits.

Habits either kill you or make you. They can be your best friend or become your master. You choose. For the order of the day states that it still depends on your Choices. Make the right choice today and see that life has more than what you think it to be. Yes, we learn by making mistakes. We also learn by making the right choices.

I have so much food dishes to blog about but mood is taken away by this. Ah… I feel better now. I wanna like eating pizza.

Candy Empire

- After Eight -

One of my childhood favourite. Here's one that comes in a miniature size. It came as a pleasant surprise as my mom conveniently dropped it on the table. :)

The little seed contains mint with dark chocs. The taste is nothing short plain chocs to me.

However, the sheer size and packaging convert the overall feel into a fine looking chocolate-mint chip.

Haha, not cheap. Palm size. :)

"wah liew eh"

Ahaha, food therapy does me no good except than to understand why so many people around the world enjoy cooking. There's really so much more to look forward to than dwell on things of the past and not move on. Sigh, just let me off all of you. Monsters.

Ah...food. I have been trying quite a few places but am conscious of what goes in and the things I do to compensate it.

First up, Waraku. I must admit it's not one of those 'top of the list' places that I am most keen to visit. Mr. Ang wanted it.

This is an interesting one and I would say it's worth the cents compared to the other dishes on the list. Hmm, the beef gets gently heated by the small fire from beneath. The egg, after being beaten, goes over the beef and gets baked nicely. I must say it was an experience to gurp that amount of carbo. SEE, there's the noodle, egg and RICE!

Second pit stop: Bakerzin. I always had the impression that the food isn't worth the money. I was wrong, at least for the pastries and sandwiches. Jac had the waffle ice cream while I went for the Prawn Sandwich. The latter is a recommended by me since it's the 'cleanest' of all, no mushrooms, durians or pork lard. The Tiramisu, somehow, did not taste as good as it did when I was studying in the GSR almost 2 years back. Well, I finished it within minutes.

Second last stop: Fish 'n' Co. Who says I don't dare to eat mushrooms?! Someone tell me what this is:

This is called mushroom soup. I repeat, MUSHROOM SOUP.

Final lap: Shokudo. The Japanese food bazaar. I found this place to have a concept similar to that of 'Marche'. They use a 'tap the card' system that actually stores the amount you spent, right in the midst of the little credit card lookalike thing. Ah, the food there isn't that bad afterall.

Pricey? Not too bad.

Ambience? They do have a variety of seats and I give due credit to the designer of that place. It actually made me feel rather pleased and in fact, impressed. It would be an excellant place to go for a gathering. The variety of food isn't that bad at all. The grills are recommended, so is the crepe.

What you see here is a plate of BBQ-Grilled makanlicious prawn-wrapped-with-bacon, beef kebab and rice. The rice is especially tasty saved for it being salty. The prawns? Yes, please go for it. The bacon wouldn't kill you.

Will I be munching again soon? I hope so. Time will be tight in the coming week.

See, food cannot hide its true colours. If it's good, it's good.

Shioks!
