Velcome back

Before you scroll down any further

Guess it! Spot it!

Yes, we're back at Chellas! (Man, this is free advertising... I shld claim fees someday.)

It's a bright and sunny day! Not to mention HOTttt.... arghh. We shld hang plenty of thirsty hippos all along the streets of Singapore. hurhurhur

We saw this just at the entrance.

Yeap! We're back and this time round, we have with us a mystery star appearance. I shall not mention names and leave it to your discretion in finding out WHO is the masked man.
Last heard, Hsi*n said: "Actually, I am the real masked man..." Gosh, I heard this from someone in Serangoon Gardens and some others from the Kembangan region.

Anyway, let's dive right in for the spicy items we had today! Yummilicious!

Here we have it, the Nilgiris Dosa.
I, for a start, was pretty reluctant to try this. The shop assistant mentioned that it was Dosa with mint leaves. MINT LEAVES? To have that for lunch was certainly no joke and that thought kinda lingered for a while in my mind as I tried to come to a decision. Well, I read somewhere that Chinese, upon seeing something new, will jump at the chance and to try the food. Well, I don't know how chinese I am but I sure like to eat and to have eaten at Chellas for a couple of tries, I suppose I can trust them for something new. And yes, I took out the guts, placed 'em on the table and asked for this particular item.

Let us take a look at it:

A closer look and you might just spot the mint leaves buried in the dosa. Nilgiris Dosa came across to me as a fairly interesting dish and the name pretty much speaks for itself. "Nilgiris" is actually "Mint" in India. Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't know the India language.
It is also the name of a little hill in India which produces mint leaves! How thought provoking it was for me to have the item presented in a platter before me with mint leaves transported all the way from India! Exquisite and worthy of the price. Shioks.

To top it off, I ordered the Home Made Chips this time round. This was to satisfy both the curiosity and justify the journey under the humid and ridiculously high temperature weather this afternoon.

Here goes:
It's actually fried with spices and each piece is relatively thick. In terms of its thickness, it's comparable to that of Kettle Chips. Of course, the price doesn't justify its quality. If I were to sell that, I would price it way higher or even pit it against the all time fav, Kettle Chips.

Here's a closer look at the chips:

My partner in crime
He had the Special Rava Masala Dosa! Special indeed.
Spicy, Mint Leaves, Cashew Nuts, Dosa. I have yet to try it until today.
And here's the receipt of the day!
Whoopido! Very filling lunch we both had.

Verdict: Passed!
Price: Take a look for yourself.

My helper mentioned that it's actually relatively affordable and not all that expensive. Wow, having that statement come from her would imply that she's either living very comfortably in Singapore or she spends quite a fair bit on meals. Well, it's decent enough for me. Hidden on the 2nd level with the air-con blowing, I almost forgotten abt the scorching heat that wraps the entire land of Singapore.

Who's next for the Chellas challenge!

Plenty of items to choose from the list. Vegetarian and No pork! No pork!

Ganbatte! Chellas has done it again.
